  11. I'm looking for a commercial grade Unix based systems level C++
  12. class library, one that would encapsulate standard systems level
  13. functionality and ease its use.  I would have thought this an
  14. obvious and simple thing to find; however, between the dozens
  15. of database libraries and GUI libraries, something as fundamental
  16. as this seems lacking.  Encapsulating things like streams, sockets,
  17. pipes, files, FIFOs, semaphores would be a sensible thing to do, wouldn't 
  18. it? Or am I simply kidding myself?

  20. I am currently writing these things myself as I need them; buying a good 
  21. systems library would save me time, effort, and our client would save a 
  22. lot of money.
